In RE, we have been learning about the story of Moses and the Exodus to the Promised Land. We remembered how God first spoke to Moses through a burning bush, so created some amazing art work - we love how the light shines through and makes the fire burn brightly!

We had a fantastic trip to the Roundhouse at Hadleigh Park this week! We got to be trainee archaeologists and dig for artefacts; we made clay stone-age pots; expored the roundhouse and went to Warrior School! We learned so much to help us with our theme work back at school - thank you to Denise and Claire at Hadleigh Park for a super school trip!
This week in our Real Gym PE lesson, we used hand apparatus as we tried to move in different ways around the room!
This week we have been practising finding the place value of the digits in 3-digit numbers by playing lots of games and working together in teams! Take a look at the vehicles we made during our whole-school DT day today. Each year group had to make a vehicle - and Year 2 had the extra challenge of making it amphibious! We built the cars using wheels and axels, and added waterproof materials to help them float. We've had a lovely first few days back! We've been looking at the painting Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh and talking about what we like about it and how it makes us feel. Over the next couple of weeks we'll be creating our own versions of this beautiful art work. It's very hard for young children to resist the urge to colour in a block so we've started very simply by practising the distinctive bold lines and swirls today. Tomorrow we'll create a background wash and practise making our own swirly shapes. Take a look at some of our budding artists! In 2W this week, we've been learning how to write text in a word processing program. This is brand new to us and can be challenging, but we're all enjoying ourselves having a go. We've been practising writing text using the space bar and adding capital letters, then we've been changing the font, size and colour.
