A couple of weeks ago, we were learning about the language of direction. We completed some fun activities to practise the language.
In our music, we have been making up our words to a song that we have been learning - Imagination.
Year 1 have been learning all about plants and have planted their very own flowers in the garden! They did a brilliant job of weeding the soil before the planting began and have been looking after the plants making sure they grow.
Today, we got to interview Neil Armstrong, using questions that we have been writing in our English lesson. We went space walking, landed on the moon and made our own rockets and space stations out of Lego.
There are a few events coming up in London that fit really well with our current theme so I thought that I'd pop them on here in case anyone is interested in going. Obviously, the Science Museum is excellent for all things science and the Greenwich Observatory has a wonderful planetarium.
The Big Space Day looks great, and claims to be free.
The Space Spectacular Concert and My Great Orchestral Adventure have music from Holst and Williams, composers who we have been studying/ listening to in our music lessons.
