Did you know that there are 8 different types of bears in the World? Ask your children if they can name any of them.
We will be ordering the story pictures which will help to to remember and retell it.
Later on in the week we will try to label or write short captions about the story, and visit our school library to find other bear stories and information books.
On Tuesday we looked at a map of the World and discussed where different bears would live. For example Polar Bears have to live in very cold places which are quite far away from where we live.
We spent the morning on a Bear Hunt!
The children wrapped up warm and went out to find clues as to where to go next.
We walked through the SWISHY SWASHY GRASS, then we had to swim through the deep cold river, SPLASH SPLOSH!
Next in the story the children have to wade through some thick, oozy mud. SQUELCH SQUERCH.
The dark gloomy forest is the next place in the story, be careful you don't STUMBLE, TRIP!
It got very cold and we all got caught in a snowstorm, the wind was blowing HOOOOWOOOO HOOOWOOOO.
Finally we made it to the cave, we had to TIPTOE TIPTOE quietly.
And then we found our bear!!!
We all ran back as quickly as we could back to the safety of the classrooms.
'We wont go on a bear hunt again!'
